Let’s rewild childhood, slow the scroll, and let kids grow in the real world first.
WHO WE ARE
Rewildhood is designed to help families bring more real-world childhood back into everyday life.
Our goal is to revive an analogue system of motivation inspired by the Boy Scout tradition. By pairing research on child development and healthy media use with real-world challenges and badges, the program helps parents feel confident in their media decisions while encouraging kids to move, explore, and build independence.
RESOURCES
The research is clear: kids need movement, independence, and real-world challenge.
The results are clear too: when kids learn to navigate the physical world first, they are better prepared to handle the digital one later.
What We Do
Our Field Guide
The Rewildhood Field Guide brings together research on child development and healthy media use into clear, age-based guidance for families. It offers practical tips, recommended media, and simple ideas that help parents support independence in every stage of childhood. Designed to be easy to reference and apply in everyday life, the guide helps parents make thoughtful decisions and build confidence in raising kids in a screen-heavy world.
Rewildhood Badges
The Rewildhood Pennant turns real-world effort into something kids can see and celebrate. Each challenge earns a physical badge that can be added to a high-quality pennant flag, creating a visible record of progress and experiences over time. As kids complete challenges that build confidence, independence, and real-world skills, the badges become a meaningful collection that celebrates effort, growth, and everyday milestones.
Rewildhood App
The Rewildhood App keeps the Field Guide and research close at hand, giving parents easy access to age-based media guidance, practical tips, and the thinking behind the program. It also provides a simple way to follow the challenges and track progress digitally for families who may not have the physical pennant and badge tracker. It’s a convenient, budget-friendly way to stay connected to the program and support real-world childhood.
