Let’s rewild childhood, slow the scroll, and let kids grow in the real world first.
WHO WE ARE
Rewildhood is a free, parent-led pilot project starting in the Fulton Heights neighbourhood of Fredericton.
It brings families together to share simple, research-informed ideas about screens, play, and growing up in the real world. Our goal is simple: let childhood grow in the real world first.
By signing up, parents receive the Rewildhood Field Guide and invites to casual, low-pressure gatherings where kids can play freely and parents can connect. Families can join in as much or as little as feels right for them.
OUR GOAL
Rewildhood unites parents to give children what matters most: freedom to play, space to explore, and the courage to try.
The research is clear: kids need movement, independence, and real-world challenge. When kids climb higher, walk farther, and solve problems with friends, they learn something screens can’t teach:
how to face the world with confidence.
Rewildhood brings parents together to act on that knowledge — by pushing digital habits later and real-world experiences earlier. Because when kids learn to navigate the physical world first, they are better prepared to handle the digital one later.
What We Do
Our Field Guide
The Rewildhood Field Guide is a practical guide for families who want to be thoughtful about screens while making space for real-world childhood. It brings together research on child development, media use, and independence into clear, age-based guidance that is easy to use at home.
Rewildhood Badges
Rewildhood turns real-world effort into something kids can see and celebrate. These patches are not about competition. They are about pride and progress. Each one marks a small step toward confidence, independence, and healthy habits.
Community Events
Rewildhood events are designed to be simple and welcoming. No registration pressure. No performance expectations. Just chances to show up, let kids play, and meet other families who care about real-world childhood.
